The project involved new interior spaces in an existing building and the fit out of new spaces in a tilt up concrete building shell located in an industrial park. This project challenged the designers to integrate a new corporate image and elements of the design into the new facilities. The project presented the need for high-level card access security, visual control and privacy. Secure areas were required to be integrated into the facility without being overpowering, with public areas providing a welcoming presence. Custom elements, including the conference table, reception desk, light fixtures and ceiling trough, conveys the essence of the company at one glance. Another aspect of the project focused on the technology and flexibility that is needed by a fast growing computer software company. Through the use of many industrial-influenced, off-the-shelf products and detailing, the design achieves a high level of quality within a moderate budget. Natural light supplements the custom designed, artificial lighting; and the interplay of pattern, texture and color between hard surfaces soften the hard edges of the industrial finishes.
