The new Gaston Middle School addresses the needs of the community on two fronts: by offering local students a leading-edge educational opportunity, while giving the community a central foundation in which to take pride. The campus itself is arranged in a half-moon shape around a centrally located amphitheater. This allows for effective student supervision during break periods and outdoor classes. Bold colorful design presents an inviting learning environment for the young students. Entering from the north, the classical styled main entry sweeps to the west in a curving brush stroke of modern design. In addition to offering students tech-ready classrooms, S.T.E.M. and science laboratories and high-quality food service facilities, this comprehensive middle school includes many design features which benefit the surrounding community including public sports fields & play equipment, community meeting spaces and even an on-site medical clinic.
