Reedley Aquatics Complex to host “Movie in the Pool” family event

Darden Architects’ Design project in the Reedley Exponent: “There are all kinds of ways to watch a movie – at a theater, in the comfort of your own home, or even on a laptop or smartphone. But what about while you’re floating in a pool?

That’s the idea of the Movie in the Pool event on Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Reedley High School Aquatics Complex on Manning Avenue. The city of Reedley’s Community Services Department is presenting the screening. The movie – the 2015 animated feature, “Home” – will start at 7:45 p.m. The pool is open 7:30-9:30 p.m. Admission for the movie is $2.50. The movie will play on the complex’s large score board. Moviegoers can watch from the pool deck or in the pool while on a flotation device. Lifeguards will be on duty.

Sarah Reid, Community Services superintendent, said they hope people will come out and enjoy the show in a state-of-the-art setting. The Kings Canyon Unified School District built the complex and opened it last summer. “I know our city is very proud of this beautiful facility,” Reid said.” Read more…
